Remodeling this Victorian-style farmhouse, built in 1870 in Calistoga , was a woodworkers dream.  We went to three different Bay Area millwork shops to match the original trim, as well as producing some of it ourselves.  The centerpiece of this project is a spacious kitchen and family room with a massive, custom, stainless steel hood and an elegant French stove.  Sliding library ladders provide access to the 12 foot tall cabinets.  Countertops are Jerusalem limestone, Italian marble and wood. The floor is travertine tile. A glass English conservatory, with windows all around, serves as the dining room and opens onto porches on two sides.  We matched the style of the original deck rail and continued the pattern around the large cedar deck.  The stunning entry gate arches were turned as one piece on a giant lathe and then cut into two halves.
