Sawyer Construction is a residential construction company based in Sebastopol, California. We build custom homes in Sonoma, Marin and Napa Counties. We specialize in a variety of styles including Victorian remodel, Japanese, and California contemporary. Our homes have been featured in This Old House, Inspired House and other architectural magazines.
Sawyer Construction was founded by Ken Sawyer in 1990. Ken’s experience began with his father, a contractor in central British Columbia, and continued in homebuilding in Vancouver. In 1969 Ken moved to California and studied traditional Japanese temple carpentry with Paul Discoe of Joinery Structures. After working construction in Monterey, San Francisco and Marin counties, Ken moved to Sonoma County in 1990. Ken's son Micah joined the company in 1992, became a partner in 1994 and is the driving force behind our project management team.
At Sawyer Construction we've assembled a great crew of carpenters with a wide range of skills, from concrete to fine finish work. We do all of our own framing and finish carpentry, as well as some millwork. We have longstanding relationships with reliable and skilled subcontractors in every specialty needed to build the home of your dreams.
